Scott Hancock, Partner and CEO of BLVR, a Belief-Led Creative Agency and Certified B-Corporation, lives a life of conviction personally and professionally. As an artist and entrepreneur, Scott reflects on his life and the common thread of his beliefs that has led him to where he is today.
Scott and his team at BLVR focus their work on businesses that want to be purpose driven. According to Scott, “nothing influences your behavior like a belief system,” and conversely, “your belief is only as good as your behavior.” BLVR works with clients around Belief, Purpose, and Vision:
Belief: Define what you believe about the world
Purpose: Identify what you will do with those beliefs
Vision: Ask, what will the world look like once you’ve done it?
This drives their work externally and internally. It was also what drove them to become a B-Corporation. A rigorous process looking for businesses that meet the highest standards in social and environmental performance, public transparency, and accountability to balance profit and purpose. Ultimately, it is an outside validation of who they say they are. This also puts them in a unique position to call others into belief driven work.
Scott helped lead the charge to launch B-Local San Diego, a local network of B-Corps in San Diego. Their goal is to see more B-Corps leading the way for doing business differently. One of the ways they are doing this is by opening a new space that will foster innovation, collaboration, and community. We look forward to seeing what BLVR does in the future!
