Bobby Brannigan, CEO and Founder of Mercato, got his entrepreneurial start reselling candy for profit in school and working in his father’s Brooklyn grocery store. When Bobby saw an opportunity to make money in college reselling textbooks, he jumped on it. Using his fellow hockey teammates for protection in his all-cash business, Bobby launched, built, and sold a $85M tech company.

Returning to Brooklyn and seeing a threat to the family business, Bobby modernized his father’s store with an online presence. This created an opportunity to help other local grocery stores and this technology driven approach gave rise to a mission driven enterprise. Bobby recognized that technology and delivery could change food choices for people in the intercity. Today, driven by mission, Bobby and his team at Mercato are impacting communities across the country taking on the goliaths of industry and serving the most vulnerable.
