What happens when we can no longer be completely independent? And are we prepared?
On this episode of Conscious Curiosity SD, I sat down with Lauren Reynolds, founder of At Home Nursing Care, for a fascinating conversation about two subjects that affect almost all of us: aging and leadership.
Lauren spent 17 years as an investigative journalist, earning 11 Emmy Awards, before her mother’s battle with cancer led her into home care.
We explored:
• What families should know before a health crisis
• Protecting independence, dignity and choice as we age
• Building and leading an 80-person, highly regulated business
• Creating a team that can operate without the owner
That last one really caught my attention.
Lauren recently took a two-week vacation and completely disconnected. Her business kept running.
That’s what empowering people looks like.
Whether you’re thinking about your own future, helping aging parents, or trying to build a business that doesn’t depend on you for everything, there’s a lot in this conversation.
And Lauren’s simplest advice may be her best:
“Do the right thing the first time and be polite.”
